Men’s Outdoor Track and Field competes at St. Francis (Ill.) Invite and Harrison Dillard Twilight

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team posted 11 top-10 finishes competing in the St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite and Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight on Friday.
The Polar Bears (16-3 overall) are competing as a split squad at this weekend's events, neither of which are being team scored.
The team of junior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding), sophomores Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and David Gross (Prospect/Pleasant Local) and freshman Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) led ONU at the St. Francis (Ill.) Invite with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay in a season-best time of 3:16.04.
Fifth-year senior Travis Sutter (Sharpsburg/Ft. Recovery) added a 10-place finish in the invitational section of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 9:46.00.
Senior Caden Sauerbrey (Dresden/Tri-Valley) led the way for the Polar Bears at the Harrison Dillard Twilight, finishing second in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 15:02.68.
The team of juniors Brandon Berry (Wickliffe) and Vini Souza (Spencerville), senior Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) and freshman Ozzie Miller (Dalton) also ran a season-best time, finishing fourth in the 4x100 relay in :41.76.
Junior Nick Tangeman (Maria Stein/Marion Local) finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.65 meters.
Nate Dean was seventh in the 200 meters with a season-best time of :21.84, and senior Luke Shellhaas (Greenville/Versailles) was seventh in the pole vault after clearing a height of 4.42 meters.
Freshman Landon Remmert (Marengo/Highland) finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles, running a season-best time of :57.05.
Sophomore Gabe Hensley (Lebanon) finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.46 meters.
Fifth-year senior Jack Lehr (York, Pa./Dallastown) placed 10th in the shot put with a season-best mark of 14.10 meters, and freshman Isaac Schoen (Coldwater) was 10th in the 400 meters with a time of :53.12.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday to close out both of the two-day meets. The Harrison Dillard Twilight was originally scheduled as a one-day meet, but the javelin was rescheduled for Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
