Sutter wins 3000-meter run, Tramontano wins mile to lead Men's Track and Field at Findlay Invitational

FINDLAY — Junior Travis Sutter (Fort Recovery) won the 3000-meter run in a career-best 8:56.55 and junior Alessandro Tramontano (Mayfield) took the crown in the mile in a career-best 4:33.68 to pace the Ohio Northern men's track and field team in the unscored Findlay Invitational at Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center.
Sutter won the 3000 by 25.61 seconds. Joining him in the 3000 were senior Kyle Neff (Sagamore Hills/Walsh Jesuit) and junior Dylan McKean (Warren/Champion). Neff was third in a career-best 9:26.74 and McKean was fourth in 9:30.64.
In the mile, Tramontano was accompanied by a third place finish by freshman Brooks Blakeley (Versailles). Blakeley was third in 4:51.39 and junior Jackson Brandstaetter (Pickerington/North) crossed fifth in 4:52.35.
Sophomore Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) was third in the pole vault, clearing 4.47 meters. Sophomore Luke Shellhaas (Greenville/Versailles) placed fourth by clearing 4.17 meters.
Junior Owen Lloyd (Colfax, Ind./Clinton Prairie) was fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.83 meters. He was also fifth in the 60 hurdles in 8.72 seconds.
The 4x400 team of senior Zach Vaughan (Niles/McKinley), freshman Selorm Adehe (Grove City/Central Crossing), sophomore Christian Booze (Bellevue), and senior Sean McGill (Fort Myers, Fla./Dunbar) finished fourth in 3:50.00.
Rounding out ONU's fourth-place finishes was senior Noah McKee (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), who leaped 5.80 meters for fourth in the long jump.
Ohio Northern will return home for its next meet, the Larry Cole Friday Night Invite on January 24.
