Junior Samuel Boyd leads Men's Outdoor Track & Field at Cedarville Invitational

ADA — Junior Samuel Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) won the 3,000-meter steeplechase to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team at the Cedarville Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears move to 16-6 on the season.
Northern finished sixth overall in the team standings with 51 points.
Boyd won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:48.33 and beat the rest of the field by more than thirty seconds to lead ONU.
Junior Alexander Sibila (Zionsville, Ind.) and freshman David Harvey (Mechanicsburg) finished second and third in the high jump, respectively, as Sibila took second with a leap of 6' 6.00" and Harvey finished third with a jump of 6' 2.00".
Freshman Jared Butcher (Mechanicsburg) posted a top-5 finish in the 400-meter dash as he finished fifth in :51.51.
In the 1,500-meter run, junior Bobby Borger (Perrysburg) finished sixth with a time of 4:06.95.
Senior Zane Augustine (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) posted a seventh place finish in the shot put with a toss of 45' 6.25" and finished eighth in the hammer throw with a throw of 154' 3.00".
In the 800-meter run, senior Andrew Harden (Dayton/Vandalia-Butler) finished seventh in 1:58.77.
In the pole vault, senior Adam Smith (Rocky River) finished eighth with a vault of 12' 8.00".
Northern returns to action Saturday, Apr. 1 as it competes in the Centre (Ky.) Invitational.
