Arkin, Rosenbaum lead Men's Track & Field on day one of the OAC Outdoor Championships

ALLIANCE – Sophomore Dan Arkin and senior Nathan Rosenbaum earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors to lead Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team in day one of the OAC Championships at Mount Union.
The Polar Bears are currently in third place with 55 points after the first day of competition.
John Carroll leads with 63 points and Mount Union is in second with 57 points.
Northern posted a strong first day earning four first place finishes in the meet.
Arkin won the javelin for the second consecutive year and set a new ONU school record with a national qualifying throw of 61.56 meters, breaking the previous record of 55.16 meters.
Rosenbaum earned All-OAC honors in the 10,000-meter run winning the event for the second consecutive year with a time of 31:24.99.
The 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore Andrew Harden, sophomore Ian McKee, senior Kyle Wagner, and freshman Matt Molinaro also garnered a first place finish in 7:47.32, earning All-OAC honors in the event.
Sophomore Kase Schalois also claimed a first place finish on day one of the OAC championships, earning All-OAC honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:31.46.
Sophomore Lucas Shumate earned All-OAC honors in the discus throw with a third place finish and a throw of 45.84 meters.
Sophomore A.J. Cody claimed seventh in the event with a throw of 41.75 meters.
Freshman Luke Bogdanovich finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 48.56 meters.
The second day of competition begins on Saturday with field events at 10 am and running events at 2:35 pm.
