Sophomore Dan Arkin leads Men's Track & Field to a first place finish at the Cedarville Invitational

CEDARVILLE — Sophomore Dan Arkin leads Ohio Northern outdoor men's track and field team to a first place finish at the Cedarville Invitational on Saturday.
The Polar Bears won the meet with 187 points.
In the javelin throw, Arkin claimed first place with a throw of 181-00, setting a new school record and breaking the previous record of 179-7.
Senior Ryan Brancheau won the high jump with a leap of 6-04.25.
Three other Polar Bears posted first place finishes in the meet.
Freshman Brandon Emert won the 400-meter hurdles in 56.57 seconds.

Sophomore Andrew Harden claimed a first place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 8:58.78.
Junior Matthew Ernstes, junior Eric Wymer, and freshman Tyler Kennedy followed Harden across the finish line in the 3,000-meter run taking 2nd through 4th place, respectively.
Freshman Matthew Craven took second in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.19 seconds, Brancheau claimed fourth in 16.46 seconds.
Senior Phil Farwig placed second in the shot put with a throw of 45-10.00.
In the discus, sophomore Lucas Shumate placed second with a toss of 144-07.
In the 400-meter dash freshman Conner Karg took second in 50.03 seconds, freshman Matt Molinaro took fourth in 50.70 seconds, and junior Christian Rupe took fifth in 50.90 seconds.
Senior Kyle Wagner claimed second in the 800-meter run in 1:59.13.
Rupe finished second in the 200-meter run in 23.13 seconds, followed by junior Denorris Turner in fourth in 23.24 seconds and Karg in fifth in 23.32 seconds.
The team of Emert, sophomore Ian McKee, Turner, and Molinaro also claimed a third place finish in 4x400 meter relay in 3:32.48.
Junior Jojuan Fisher placed third in the 100-meter dash in 11.37 seconds, while Turner placed fifth in 11.56 seconds.
Senior Nathan Rosenbaum posted a fourth place finish in the 1500-meter run in 4:13.82.
In the long jump, Brancheau claimed fifth with a leap of 19-10.25.
Junior Steven Gohrband finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 13-06.25.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
