Men's Tennis drops tight 5-4 marathon match to Cedarville

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team dropped a tight 5-4 to Cedarville on Wednesday indoors at the Westwood Tennis and Fitness Center.
The Polar Bears move to 1-1 overall, while the Yellow Jackets are 2-1.
Northern took a 2-1 lead after doubles as junior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills) and freshman Nico Rogel (Alicante, Spain/Hoosac) won 8-4 at No. 3 and sophomores Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and Drew Swisher (Findlay) won 8-6 at No. 2.
Sophomore Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to give ONU a 3-1 lead.
But CU then rallied to win at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 singles to grab a 4-3 lead.
Rogel evened the score at 4-all with a tough 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles.
But the Yellow Jackets ground out a 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles to clinch the 3-hour, 42-minute match.
The Polar Bears will return to action this weekend at the Denison Invitational.
