Men's Tennis edged by NAIA foe Concordia (Mich.) 5-4

ADA – The Ohio Northern men's tennis team battled back from an early deficit on Tuesday afternoon, but was unable to clinch the victory and fell 5-4 to Concordia (Mich.).
The Polar Bears are now 11-9 overall.
Sophomores David Hayman (Westerville/South) and Jake Abbott (Kenton) teamed up at No. 2 doubles to secure a 9-8(2) victory, giving the Polar Bears their first point as CU led 2-1 after doubles.
In singles play, ONU battled back from a 3-1 deficit with three consecutive victories at Nos. 6, 4, and 2 singles to take a 4-3 lead.
Senior Dan Warren (Tallahassee, Fla./Lincoln) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6, Abbott won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 and Hayman won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 to give Northern the lead.
But Concordia posted 3-set wins at Nos. 3 and 5 singles to edge ONU 5-4 in the match.
The Polar Bearsare slated to wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they host Capital at 1 pm at University Courts.
