Men's Tennis posts 9-0 shutout victory over Albion (Mich.)

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Its its final contest in Hilton Head Island, S.C., the Ohio Northern men's tennis team posted a convincing 9-0 shutout over Albion (Mich.).
The Polar Bears improve to 7-2, while the Britons fall to 3-6.
The team of sophomore Tim Kargl (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and freshman Andrew Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South), and sophomore Jake Abbott (Kenton) and freshman Tyler Frantz (Bellefontaine) each posted 8-3 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively.
Junior Cody Hurley (Centerville) and sophomore David Hayman (Westerville/South) won at No. 3 doubles 8-0 to help Northern to an early 3-0 advantage in the match.
Hayman and Frantz each won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively
At No. 3 singles, Garcia posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory, while Abbott won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles for the Polar Bears.
Hurley won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, while Kargl posted an exciting 7-5, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles as ONU went on to win the 9-0 victory.
The Polar Bears return home and host Adrian (Mich.) on Mar. 16 at 4 pm at the University Courts.
