Season Review: Men's Tennis team competed in its 14th consecutive OAC Tournament in 2014-15

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team competed in its 14th consecutive OAC Tournament as the team posted a 6-11 overall record, 3-5 OAC during the 2014-15 season.
Northern opened up their season 0-3 dropping matches to Hope (Mich.), Luther (Iowa), and Mt. St. Mary's (Md.), before picking up its first win on the teams spring break trip.
The Polar Bears kicked off the spring season with its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. where the men went 1-2 overall, defeating King's (Pa.) 5-4.
ONU would return from Florida and take on Heidelberg in their OAC opener, claiming a 9-0 victory.
Northern then returned home for a three game home stretch, where the Polar Bears defeated non-conference opponent Wittenberg, but fell to Mount Union and Otterbein.
The Polar Bears then took part in the OAC Tennis Festival hosted at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason (Ohio).
During the Festival, ONU went a perfect 3-0, with all three victories coming by 9-0 shutouts.
ONU closed out the season dropping their last three games to OAC opponents Baldwin Wallace, John Carroll, and Capital.
Northern was seeded sixth in the OAC Tournament, where they fell to Capital 5-0.
Junior John Mostowy posted a strong season, going 20-13 overall.
He received All-OAC honors, for the third consecutive season, and recorded his 94th win of his career.
Senior Sam Prewitt led the team in doubles action as he posted a 12-5 record.
Prewitt also earned All-OAC accolades, as well as Academic All-OAC honors. The senior concluded his career with 52 wins in doubles play.
Sophomore Alex Starr earned OAC Player of the Week honors during the week of March 23 as he posted a perfect record in competition.
The sophomore went 4-0, including a 6-0, 6-0 win against Heidelberg.
Along with Mostowy and Prewitt, Northern saw three other members claim Academic All-OAC accolades, senior Alex Altman, senior Andy Starr, and sophomore Alex Starr.
