Men's Tennis opens home slate with 7-2 victory over Wittenberg in Lima

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team opened the home portion of its schedule with a 7-2 victory over Wittenberg Sunday afternoon at he Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.
The Polar Bears won their second consecutive match and improve to 3-5 overall, while the Tigers fall to 1-8.
Sophomore Alex Starr won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and combined with freshman Alex Altman to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Northern began the match by sweeping the doubles matches.
Senior Sam Prewitt and junior John Mostowy won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and sophomores Alex Genbauffe and Gary Hess won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Prewett won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, Hess won 1-6, 6-1, 10-4 at No. 5 singles and Genbauffe won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
The match was part of a men's/women's doubleheader with Wittenberg at Westwood.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday at 1 pm with a home match against Mount Union.
