Saunders, Mostowy lead Men's Tennis in 5-4 loss at Capital

COLUMBUS — Senior Josh Saunders and sophomore John Mostowy won at Nos. 1 and 3 singles to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team in a 5-4 loss at Capital on Saturday.
The Polar Bears end their regular season with an 11-5 overall record and are 5-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Crusaders improve to 10-6, 6-2.
Northern will be the No. 5 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will travel to fourth-seeded John Carroll on Wednesday for a quarterfinal matchup.
The semifinals and finals are slated for May 2-3 at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason.
Saunders won 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Mostowy won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Northern took a 2-1 lead after doubles play after winning courts 2 and 3.
Senior Do Thai and freshman J.T. Rapaport won 9-8(1) at No. 2 doubles and senior Blake Troller and junior Sam Prewitt won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Northern had two other chances to win the match, but lost 7-5 tiebreakers at No. 1 doubled and No. 4 singles.
