ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse teama celebrated Senior Day and ran its winning streak to a school record 10 games with a convincing 25-3 victory over Muskingum on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 10-1 overall and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 4-0 record, while the Muskies fall to 4-7, 0-4.
For the second consecutive game, Ohio Northern played all 56 healthy players, tying the previous school record set on Wednesday in a 23-3 win over Heidelberg.
In all, seven different players scored two goals, 18 different players scored at least one goal and 22 players had either a goal or an assist for ONU.
Junior Cameron Marous (Brecksville) had two goals and two assists to finish with a team-high four points.
Marous also became the second member of ONU's 100-Goal Club and now has 101 for his career. He is also ONU's all-time career leader with 79 assists and 180 points
Northern dominated from the onset, leading 7-0 after the first period and 15-0 at halftime.
ONU won 25-of-30 faceoffs, led by an 8-for-10 effort by senior William Peoples (Breckenridge, Colo./Summit), a 7-9 effort from sophomore Preston Victory (Brentwood, Tenn.) and a 6-for-7 effort from Junior Chris DiMarco (Worthington).
The Polar Bears honored its 20 seniors in a pre-game ceremony.
ONU out-shot Muskingum 76-14 and won the ground ball battle by a 60-21 margin.
The Polar Bears put take their 13-game road winning streak on the line Wednesday evening with a 7 pm game at Baldwin Wallace.
