Josh Steyer named OAC Men’s Golf Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-25.
This marks the second OAC Player of the Week accolade for Steyer in his career, as he also earned the honor once during his freshman season.
The latest recognition comes after Steyer shot a 78-75—153 to finish in a tie for 27th out of 92 golfers in a loaded field at the Berry (Ga.) Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
Steyer improved 11 spots on the leaderboard over the course of the second round, as he closed Monday's opening round in a tie for 38th.
His second-round 75 helped the Polar Bears finish in ninth place of 14 teams after entering the final round tied for 11th.
As a team, Northern followed a first-round 315 with a second-round 306 to finish with a season-low 36-hole score of 621.
The Polar Bears (18-23 overall) are done competing in the fall season and will announce their spring schedule in February.
