Men's Golf sits third in tight field after first round of OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Juniors Blaine Ricketts and Tyler Davis and senior Rick Deichert all sit in the top five after the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships on Friday at River Greens Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (32-13-1 overall) are tied for third with a 301 after the first 18 holes of the 72-hole tournament.
The teams will play nine more holes on Friday, play 27 on Saturday and finish the Championships with 18 holes on Sunday.
Ricketts is tied for third out of 40 golfers with a 1-over par 73.
Davis and Deichert are in a 8-way tie for fifth with 2-over par 74s.
Mount Union leads a tight field with a 298. Capital is second at 300 and ONU and Otterbein are tied for third with 301s.
All eight teams are within 12 shots of the lead after the first round.
