ADA - Senior kicker Chase Watson (Lima/Elida) has been tabbed the Ohio Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in the 2018 football season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Watson finished two-for-two on extra points and tacked on a 22-yard field goal for five total points in Saturday's 49-17 loss to #10 John Carroll. With his weekend efforts, the senior is now 26-for-26 in extra points and three-for-four on field goal attempts this season.
The nomination marks the second time in his career that Watson has garnered the weekly league accolade. He received his first award earlier this season on Monday, September 24 for his performance in a 13-7 victory over Otterbein.
Ohio Northern returns to action this Saturday, October 20 as the Polar Bears travel to Capital for an OAC showdown. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Bernlohr Stadium in Columbus.
