GRANVILLE — Freshman Corey McMann (Flower Mound, Tex./Liberty Christian) drilled a 2-run home run to lead the Ohio Northern baseball team in a 12-4 loss at No. 27-ranked Denison on Thursday afternoon at Big Red Field.
The Polar Bears fall to 8-8 overall), while the Big Red improve to 15-2.
Sophomore Tyler Randick (Flushing, Mich.) went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Ohio Northern.
McMann finished 2-for-5 and junior Phil Buckingham (Wayne/Elmwood) went 2-for-3 with a run scored for ONU.
Denison scored four in the first frame and led 7-1 when ONU got a pair of runs in the top of the seventh on McMann's 2-run home run.
In all, Northern had 10 base hits while the Big Red had 18 base hits on the day.
The Polar Bears are scheduled to return to action on Saturday when they host Capital in an OAC double header at 1 pm at Wander Field.
