Ohio Northern's men's track and field team, under the guidance of coach Claude Sharer, posted the program's first undefeated season with a 5-0 record in 1926.
The men were so dominant on the cinder track that 13 of the 15 school records were broken that year.
The Polar Bears defeated Bluffton 70-38, Bowling Green 93.5-37.5, Muskingum 81-49, Heidelberg 100-30 and Kenyon 95-36.
J.D. Maloney and H.M. Anderson each set three school records that spring.
Maloney set records in the 220-yard dash (:23.8) and 440-yard dash (:52.9) and Anderson set marks in the 880-yard run (2:00.6) and the mile (4:34.2).
The pair combined with Merrill Heft and Earl Hartley to break the school record in the mile relay in 3:42.3.
Walter Eighmy broke school records in the 120-yard high hurdles (:16.8) and the 220-yard low hurdles (:26.6).
