Women's Cross Country places third of nine teams at NCAC Preview Meet

GRANVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team placed third of nine teams at the NCAC Preview Meet on Saturday morning.
The Basics
- Record: Ohio Northern (9-3)
- Race Info: The event was a 6K race held at Infirmary Mound Park in Granville.

- DePauw (Ind.) won the team title with 36 points, and Oberlin was second with 55 points.
- Ohio Wesleyan (75 points) and Otterbein (122 points) rounded out the top five teams.

- The Polar Bears had five runners finish in the top 20 in the 102-woman field.
- Freshman AnnaSophia Gower (Perrysburg) led ONU across the finish line, placing 4th overall in 26:02.21.
- Senior Megan Vapenik (Strongsville) was 13th in 26:41.50.
- Senior Olesya Mertz (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) was 17th in 26:51.30.
- Sophomore Natalie Armbruster (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) was 19th in 26:56.40.
- Junior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) was 20th in 26:58.00.
Notables
- Grace Thomas of DePauw won the individual title in 25:09.60.
- Gower was tops among ONU runners for the second consecutive meet.
