Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday … The women's 6k begins at 11 a.m. … The Polar Bears are ranked No. 32 nationally in this week's USTFCCCA Division III poll after earning a No. 33 ranking in the preseason poll … Northern is ranked No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region … The Polar Bears have won each of their first two meets of the season and are coming off Saturday's Wittenberg Invitational … ONU placed first of 10 teams at the Wittenberg Invitational, scoring 40 points … Fifth-year senior Tessa Pitcovich led a group of four Polar Bears who finished in the top 10 at the 6k race … Pitcovich finished with a time of 23:31 … Junior Olesya Mertz was sixth in a career-best time of 23:50, freshman Kennedy Rader was seventh in 23:59, and junior Megan Vapenik was ninth in 24:23.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 14th year as head coach of the ONU men's and women's cross country teams and is the winningest coach in school history for both programs … Over 13 seasons at ONU, he has guided the men's team to a 1,280-334 record, a winning percentage of .793, and four OAC titles and the women's team to a 1,079-449 record, a winning percentage of .706, and three OAC championships.
