Women’s Cross Country tabbed for fifth-place finish at 2018 OAC Championships

ADA – The Ohio Northern women's cross country program has been selected for a top-five result at the OAC Championships by the 10 conference head coaches, the league office announced Wednesday with the release of its annual OAC Coaches Preseason Poll.
Northern garnered 58 total points in the 2018 poll, good for fifth overall in the conference.
Defending league champion Otterbein held down the top spot in the listing, collecting 80 total points and eight first-place votes. Baldwin Wallace (64 points, one first-place vote), Mount Union (62 points), and John Carroll (60 points, one first-place vote) also edged out Northern in the poll with just six points separating the four squads.
During the 2017 season, the Polar Bears finished fourth at the OAC Championships after posting a team score of 100 points. ONU would also capture two team championships during the season, claiming the Bluffton 5k Invitational and Tiffelberg Open titles.
Ohio Northern is scheduled to open the 2018 season at the Bluffton 5k Invitational on August 31 at 6 p.m. under the direction of 10th-year head coach Jason Maus.
