ONU Race Notes: The Ohio Northern women's cross country team enters Saturday's Ohio Athletic Conference Championships after a strong showing at the Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic where it finished in the top half of the field ... The OAC Championships are set to begin with the men's 8k race at 11 a.m. with the women's 6k race following at 12:15 pm ... Northern was led in the Cowbell Classic by senior Emily Richards as she finished tenth of 332 runners in a career-best time of 21:50.49 ... Junior Ashlie Baumann finished second for Ohio Northern and 66th overall in 23:22.55, while junior Kristina Myers rounded out the top-3 Polar Bear finishers, completing the race in a career-fastest time of 24:03.06 ... Northern will look to post its 16th consecutive upper-division finish at the meet ... Richards and Baumann each earned All-Conference honors at the 2016 OAC Championships as Richards finished second out of 125 runners in 22:09 and Baumann finished 11th in 22:38 ... The top nine finishers earn First Team All-OAC honors and runners 10-18 receive Second Team All-Conference kudos ... Northern finished fourth in the team standings a season ago and will look to crack the top-3 in the conference standings for the first time since 2012.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 9th season as head coach with a 749-426 record, a winning percentage of .637 ... Maus is now the winningest women's cross country head coach at Ohio Northern after surpassing former coach Brian Cole at the Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic.
