Sophomore Ashlie Baumann leads Women's Cross Country to second place finish at Michigan St. Spartan Invitational

ADA — Sophomore Ashlie Baumann led the Ohio Northern women's cross country team to a second place finish Friday afternoon as they competed at the Michigan St. Spartan Invitational.
The Polar Bears (5-2 overall) finished second among Div. III teams that competed at the event.
Ohio Northern, No. 9-ranked Calvin (Mich.) and Olivet (Mich.) represented Div. III schools.
Baumann finished first among Div. III athletes as she finished in 24:03.
Freshman Zoe Schilling finished fifth in 24:56, while sophomore Colleen Grainger and freshman Madeleine Routhier also posted top-10 finishes in 25:02 and 25:24, respectively.
"This was a very big field for our women to compete in," said head coach Jason Maus. "We have to be a little more confident heading into races. We learned a lot at this meet and hope to get better and improve from here."
Also posting top-7 finishes for the Polar Bears were junior Nikki Huber as she finished 12th in 25:35, senior Genevieve Marchese as she finished 13th in 25:39, and freshman Kathleen Colvin as she finished 14th in 25:40.
