Sophomore Emily Richards earns All-Region honors to lead Women's Cross Country at the NCAA III Greats Lake Regional meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team wrapped up the 2015 season with a 10th place finish out of 33 teams at the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional meet Saturday afternoon at the Laverne Gibson Cross Country course.
The Polar Bears post their 26th consecutive winning season with a 95-38 record.
Sophomore Emily Richards led Ohio Northern across the finish line, finishing eighth of 243 runners in 22:14.5 on the 6,000-meter course.
With the finish, Richards earned All-Region honors and earned a bid to the National meet.
The top 35 individuals earn All-Region honors.
Senior Margaret Sorg finished 69th in 23:44.1, freshman Ashlie Baumann was 71st in 23:44.8, junior Genevieve Marchese was 86th in 24:02.1 and senior Rebekah McCutchen was 88th in 24:03.4.
No. 12-ranked Hope (Mich.) won the team title with 112 points and No. 25 Calvin (Mich.) was second with 124 points, claiming the two automatic bids to the NCAA III Championships.
Allegheny (Pa.) was third with 129 points and Case Western Reserve was fourth with 133 points. Both schools will now wait to see if they receive one of the 16 at-large bids given nationwide to the NCAA III Championships..
Lauren Strohbehn of Clavin won the race in 21:46.1.
Richards will compete as an individual at the NCAA III Championships on Sat. at Noon Eastern Standard Time in Winneconne, Wis.
