Sophomore Emily Richards leads Women's Cross Country to 6th place finish at the All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished 6th of 18 teams at the All-Ohio Championships Friday afternoon at Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
The Polar Bears (46-18 overall) finished with 147 points.
Sophomore Emily Richards led the way for Ohio Northern finishing 13 of 273 NCAA Division III runners in 22:54 over the 6,000-meter course.
The race featured 552 runners from NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA and Community College schools in Ohio.
Freshman Ashlie Baumann finished 26th in 23:29, senior Rebekah McCutchen finished 30th in 23:33 and junior Genevieve Marchese finished 36th in 23:37.
Otterbein's Claire Lamb won the individual crown in 21:41.
Otterbein won the race with 80 points, followed by Mount Union in second with 111 points, Ohio Wesleyan in third with 112 points, John Carroll in fourth with 120 points, and Case Western in fifth with 128 points.
The Polar Bears will take next weekend off and return to action Oct. 17 at the Oberlin Rumble.
