CEDARVILLE — Ohio Northern finished ninth of 20 teams at the All-Ohio Women's Cross Country Championships Friday afternoon at the King Cross Country Course.

The Polar Bears (46-34 overall) finished with 255 points in the Division III race and were fifth out of the 10 Ohio Athletic Conference teams.

Senior Samantha Hoffman led ONU across the finish line for the third consecutive week with a 37th place finish out of 256 runners in 24:01 over the sloppy 6,000-meter course.

The race featured 503 runners from NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA and Community College schools in Ohio.

Senior Raechel Moore was 44th in 24:12, freshman Kirsten Harder was 56th in 24:29, junior Kara Sosinski was 58th in 24:30, sophomore Morgan Rouch was 78th in 24:58 and senior Catie Huber was 88th in 25:06 for ONU.

Oberlin's Emma Lehmann won the race in 21:41.

No. 17-ranked Mount Union won the team title with 63 points, No. 5 Oberlin was second with 70, Ohio Wesleyan was third with 105 and No. 25 Case Western Reserve was fourth with 106.

The Polar Bears will take next weekend off and will return to action Oct. 18 at the Oberlin Rumble.
