Women's Cross Country finishes 2nd of 5 at season-opening Bluffton Invitational

BLUFFTON — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished second out of five teams at the season-opening Bluffton Invitational Friday night.
The Polar Bears (3-1) finished with 47 points. Huntington (Ind.) won the meet with 42 points and Heidelberg was third with 48 points.
Junior Rebekah McCutchen led Ohio Northern across the finish line, placing sixth out of 68 runners in 20:12 over the 5,000-meter course.
Junior Kara Sosinski was eighth in 20:27, junior Margaret Sorg was ninth in 20:29, senior Raechel Moore was 11th in 20:42 and senior Julie Puvogel finished 13th in 20:45.
Huntington's Christine Sparks won the race in 19:02.
Ohio Northern will return to action Friday, Sept. 5 at the Taylor (Ind.) Invitational.
