No. 25 Women's Cross Country finishes second at All-Ohio Championships
CEDARVILLE — The No. 25-ranked Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished second of 22 NCAA Division III teams Friday afternoon at the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville's King Cross Country Course.
The Polar Bears (39-5) finished with 80 points. No. 31 Oberlin won the team title with 64 points, John Carroll was third with 124 points and No. 27 Case Western Reserve was fourth with 150 points.
Junior All-American Alison Steinbrunner led Ohio Northern with a second place finish out of 150 runners in 18:28 over the 5,000-meter course.
Senior Kelly Casanova was 15th in 19:10, senior Ashley Baumer was 16th in 19:11, junior Lydia Weaver was 23rd in 19:14 and freshman Shayla Siefker was 24th in 19:16.
Case Western Reserve's Natalia Cabrera won the individual race in 18:26.
The Polar Bears will return to action Oct. 15 at Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
