Four Polar Bears named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Volleyball Team

ADA — Senior Grace Irmer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) and juniors Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Min.), Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) and Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) were named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District Volleyball Team for the 2023 season.
This marks the second career CSC Academic All-District accolade for Jennings, who earned the honor in 2022, and first for Irmer, Dahlin and Wagner.
All four also earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2023.
Wagner led the Polar Bears on the court this season, earning AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and All-Region 7 First Team recognition in addition to All-OAC First Team honors. She was also named to the All-OAC Tournament Team and was a two-time OAC Offensive Player of the Week selection.
A biology major, Wagner is a two-time All-Region and All-OAC honoree. She led the OAC in hitting percentage (.336), ranked second in kills per set (3.46), fourth in total kills (360) and 11th in blocks (71) in 27 games in 2023.
In 74 games through three seasons at ONU, Wagner has 799 kills, 170 blocks and 119 digs, and her .307 hitting percentage is seventh-best in program history.
An All-OAC Second Team and three-time OAC Defensive Player of the Week selection this season, Jennings finished with a team-high 615 digs and 41 service aces along with 138 assists in 27 games. The psychology major led the OAC in digs per set (5.91), ranked third in total digs and fifth in aces.
In 80 games through three seasons at ONU, Jennings has 1,606 digs, 267 assists and 124 aces. She ranks 10th all-time at ONU in career digs and is a three-time All-OAC and seven-time OAC Player of the Week honoree.
Dahlin was an All-OAC Honorable Mention selection this season after ranking third on the team in hitting percentage (.240) and kills (204) and second in blocks (73) while playing 26 games. Her block total ranked 10th in the OAC.
A marketing major, Dahlin has played in 59 career games through three seasons and has 448 kills with a .213 hitting percentage to go with 137 blocks and 76 digs.
Irmer, an early childhood education major, tallied 219 digs, 36 assists and 20 aces in 27 games in 2023.
Through 88 games over four seasons at ONU, she has 665 digs, 101 assists and 58 aces.
The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 9.
The Polar Bears finished 17-10 overall and tied for fourth in the OAC with a 5-4 mark in 2023 under first-year head coach Sophie Windover.
