No. 24 Volleyball falls to Otterbein 3-0 in OAC battle

ADA — The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision Otterbein on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Basics
- Records: #24 Ohio Northern (11-5, 1-1 OAC), Otterbein (13-7, 3-0 OAC).

Match Highlights
- Junior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) led the Polar Bears with 8 kills and 4 blocks.
- Senior Ava Ehlinger (New Carlisle/Tecumseh) had 6 kills and 13 digs.
- Junior Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Minn.) had 5 kills with a .375 hitting percentage.
- Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) had a team-best 15 assists and junior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) had a team-best 21 digs.
- In the opening set, Northern used a 4-0 run to break a 4-all tie and take an 8-4 lead. OU responded with a 7-0 run to grab an 11-8 advantage and held on for the win.
- Set two saw ONU take an early 6-5 lead, only to see the visitors grab a 13-8 advantage.
- In of the third, Polar Bears went on a 6-1 run to take the lead 11-10. But OU rallied to grab the set and the match.
- The Polar Bears hit .110 with 28 kills, while the Cardinals hit .239 with 45 kills.

- Conrad now has 1,570 career assists. She is just 202 assists away from joining ONU's top-10 list in the category.
- Jennings has 1,383 career digs, which is 84 away from joining ONU's all-time top 10 in that category.
- Wagner is tied for 7th in ONU's top-10 list for hitting percetage, hitting .299 to date.
- ONU leads OU in the all-time series between the two schools by a 56-10 margin.
- Sophie Windover is now 11-5 in her first season as head coach of the ONU volleyball team.
