SAN ANTONIO, Tex. —The No. 11-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team posted sweeps of Rowan (N.J.) and California-Santa Cruz on the final day of the Trinity (Tex.) Invitational at the Bell Athletic Center on Saturday.
The Polar Bears improve to 18-4 on the season and ended the tournament with a 3-1 record.
ONU opened the day with a 25-22, 25-16, 25-22 victory over Rowan (N.J.) on Saturday morning and downed California-Santa Cruz 25-22, 25-8, 25-18 on Saturday afternoon.
Senior All-American Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) had 13 kills and five blocks and senior McKenna Jordan (Toledo/Saint Ursula) added 10 kills to lead ONU past the Profs (11-12) in the first match of the day.
Sydney Bapst (Grove City) had 13 kills and freshman Madison Kern (Loveland/Mount Notre Dame) had 10 kills in the afternoon victory over the Banana Slugs (10-12).
Huppert and senior McKenna Hostetler (Plain City/Alder) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Huppert finished the tournament with team-highs of 48 kills and 14 blocks, while Hostetler led the team with 95 digs and five aces in the four matches.
The Polar Bears will return to Ohio Athletic Conference play on Tuesday with a 7 pm match at Wilmington.
