No. 20 Volleyball stays atop OAC with 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 sweep of Baldwin Wallace

BEREA — The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team swept Baldwin Wallace 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (24-4 overall) run their win streak to eight consecutive matches and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings with a 7-1 league record.
ONU would grab a share of its 25th OAC Regular Season title with a victory at Marietta in its regular season finale on Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 25-5, 3-5.
Sophomore Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) led Ohio Northern with a match-high 13 kills.
Sophomore McKenna Jordan (Toledo/St. Ursula) had nine kills, freshman Katie Wade (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) dished out 34 assists and sophomore McKenna Hostetler (Plain City/Alder) had 13 digs for ONU.
In the opening set, Ohio Northern went on an 8-2 run to take an 11-7 lead. Later, a 5-1 run made it 21-13 and ONU held on for the 25-16 win.
The Polar Bears raced to a quick leads of 5-1 and 9-2 and were never challenged in the 25-17 set two win.
Northern emptied its bench in Set 3 and a 9-0 run turned a tight 12-10 game into a commanding 21-10 ONU advantage.
Ohio Northern hit .287 with 41 kills, while Baldwin Wallace hit .098 with 30 kills.
The Polar Bears have clinched a top-3 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match on Oct. 31 at 7 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
