Borchers, Nieszala named Academic All-Conference in Volleyball for 2016

ADA — Senior All-American Ashley Borchers (Russia) and junior Honorable Mention All-American libero Megan Nieszala (Lambertville, Mich. / St. Marys Catholic Central) were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in volleyball for the 2016 season.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50.
Borchers is now a 3-time Academic All-OAC honoree, a 3-time All-Conference honoree and a two-time First Team AVCA All-Great Region honoree.
She was named Second team All-America this season and was an Honorable Mention All-American last season.
The senior led the team with 1,032 assists and ranked first on the team and in the OAC with a .398 hitting percentage.
The 2016 OAC Co-Player of the Year ended her career ranked sixth all-time at Ohio Northern with 3,317 career assists.
Nieszala is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree and is a two-time All-Conference award winner
She was named Second Team All-OAC this season after being named First Team All-OAC, First Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-America as a sophomore in 2015.
For the second consecutive season, Nieszala led the team in digs (453).
The junior also ranked second on the team with 104 assists.
The No. 22-ranked Polar Bears posted a 27-4 record, won the OAC Regular Season and OAC Tournament titles and advanced to the first round of the NCAA III Tournament in 2016.
