ADA — Freshman McKenna Jordan (Toledo/St. Ursula) and senior Ashley Borchers (Russia/Russia) posted a double-double to lead the Ohio Northern volleyball team in a 3-0 sweep over Mount Union Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-3 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders fall to 11-5, 0-1.
The victory marks the 24th consecutive season that ONU has won its OAC opener.
Jordan led Northern with a double-doulbe, posting a game-high 12 kills and adding 11 digs.
Borchers also posted a double-double as she racked up a game-high 40 assists and added 10 digs.

Freshman McKenna Hostetler (Plain City/Alder) and junior Megan Nieszala (Lambertville, Mich./St. Marys Catholic Central) added 14 and 11 digs, respectively.
After a convincing 25-15 in the first set, the Polar Bears would fall behind 7-6 early in the second match.
A kill from senior Claire Heitkamp (Maria Stein/Marion Local) would cap off a 4-0 run to Northern a 10-8 lead.
Mount Union would close the gap to 24-23 before Fecko sealed the victory with a kill to put Northern up two sets to none.
After the Purple Raiders pulled within 23-22 in the third set, Fecko would get a kill and the Polar Bear defense would take advantage of a MtU miscue and go on to win 25-22.
The Polar Bears will return to action Tuesday as they travel to Otterbein to take on the Cardinals at 7pm.
