ADA — Senior Ashley Borchers was named to the Bluffton Sommer Spiketacular All-Tournament team as she helped Ohio Northern to a perfect 4-0 record at the two day tournament.
Northern wrapped up the final day of competition with a 25-16, 25-19, 25-19 victory over DePauw (Ind.) and a 25-11, 25-10, 25-19 victory over Kenyon.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-1 overall, while DePauw falls to 4-2 and Kenyon falls to 6-3.
Borchers led the way for Northern during day two of the tournament as she compiled 58 assists, added 10 kills and posted 13 digs on the day.
Junior Haley Potters posted a team-high 22 kills in the contests and added five blocks.
Senior Claire Heitkamp added 16 kills for Northern and boasted a team-best .640 hitting percentage.
Northern posted 81 digs in the contest against DePauw as Borchers, junior Megan Nieszala, sophomore Michaela Sharlow, and freshmen McKenna Jordan and McKenna Hostetler each posted double-digit digs.
The Polar Bears posted a season-best .667 hitting percentage in the second set of the match against Kenyon.
Northern will return to action Tuesday as they play host to Denison at the ONU Sports Center at 7 pm.
