Volleyball lands eight Academic All-OAC honorees

ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team had eight players named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in voting done by the leagues academic advisors.
Senior Kaitlann Hogrefe, junior Kristian Sessler, sophomore Megan Nieszala, senior Alexis Mills, senior Ellie Gillespie, junior Ashley Borchers, senior Emily Beasley and sophomore Haley Potters all received the honor.
Hogrefe earns her third Academic All-OAC honor.
The middle hitter recorded 261 kills this season with 91 blocks.
She is a two-time All-Conference honoree and was named to the First Team this season.
Sessler an elementary education major earns her second Academic All-OAC accolade.
The outside hitter recorded 199 kills, while recording 415 digs.
She also earned All-OAC honors as a freshman in 2013.
Nieszala the OAC Libero of the Year recorded a team-high 572 digs with 106 assists.
The chemistry major earns her first Academic All-OAC honor.
She was also named Honorable Mention All-America, First Team All-Great Lakes Region and First Team All-OAC this season.
Mills earns her third Academic All-OAC accolade.
The defensive specialist appeared in 21 sets making 11 digs this season.
Gillespie a pharmacy major earns her third Academic All-OAC honor.
The outside hitter led the team this season with 276 kills, while dishing out 19 assists.
She is a four-time All-OAC honoree, earning Honorable Mention honors this Fall.
Borchers posted a team-high 1,083 assists, while appearing in 108 sets.
The setter earns her second Academic All-OAC accolade.
She was also named Honorable Mention All-America, First Team All-Great Lakes Region and First Team All-OAC this season.
Beasley earns her third Academic All-OAC honor.
The pharmacy major made seven appearances this season, recording eight kills.
Potters recorded 253 kills, while collecting a team-high 97 blocks this season.
The sophomore earns her first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The Polar Bears finished the season 24-6 overall and Runner-Up in the OAC Tournament.
