Hogrefe's hot hitting key as Volleyball grabs 4-set victory at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD -- The Ohio Northern volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17 victory at Muskingum Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-9 overall and are 4-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Muskies fall to 15-14, 1-6.
Junior Kaitlann Hogrefe had a team-high 15 kills and hit an amazing .483 in the match, while freshman Hannah Davis had 14 kills and a .344 hitting percentage.
Junior Ellie Gillespie added 12 kills and sophomore Kristin Sessler added 11 kills for ONU.
Sophomore Ashley Borchers dished out a career-high 53 assists and senior Amanda Volosin had a career-high 24 digs for the Polar Bears.
Muskingum was led by Taylour Fatheree with 15 kills and Brooke Scott and Alexa Abrams with 13 kills each.
Ohio Northern hit .278 as a team with 65 kills and only 11 errors. MU hit .266 with 61 kills and 11 errors.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season with two matches next week, playing at Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday and home against Marietta Saturday on Senior Day.
The OAC Tournament will start Nov. 4 with quarterfinal play at campus sites.
