ONU Invitational Schedule: ONU will face Thiel (Pa.) at 3 pm and Thomas More (Ky.) at 7 pm Friday and will host Defiance at 10 am and Wooster at Noon on Saturday.

ONU Match Notes: The 36th Annual ONU Invitational kicks off the 2014 season for the Polar Bears ... It marks the 11th consecutive year that Ohio Northern has started its season by hosting this tournament ... ONU returns five starters and nine letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 19-9 overall and was third in the OAC with a 7-2 mark ... Northern has won four of the past five ONU Invitationals and has 15 tournament titles overall ... The Polar Bears are led by senior captain Amanda Volosin and junior captains Ellie Gillespie and Kaitlann Hogrefe ... Volosin is a two-time letterwinner as a defensive specialist ... Gillespie is a two-time All-OAC honoree and led the Polar Bears in kills last year with 269 ... Hogrefe has led the team in blocks for each of the past two seasons, totaling 89 in 2012 and 64 last season ... Sophomore Kristin Sessler earned Second Team All-OAC honors and sophomore Kelli Weininger was named to the ONU Invitational ALl-Tournament Team as freshmen in 2013 ... Sessler played outside hitter, defensive specialist and libero last year, leading the team with 481 digs while finishing third with 177 kills ... Weininger was second on the squad with 62 blocks and was fourth with 160 kills.

All-Time Series: Ohio Northern leads the all-time series against Theil 3-0, against Thomas More 22-8, against Defiance 32-0 and against Wooster 24-10.
