Volleyball posts dominating victory over Kenyon

ADA--The Ohio Northern volleyball team posted a dominating 25-8, 25-21, 25-14 victory over Kenyon Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears are now 17-3 on the season while the Ladies fall to 3-10.
Senior Ellen Grenert led the way for Northern with nine kills and a solid .471 hitting percentage.
Freshman Kaitlann Hogrefe has eight kills for the Polar Bears hitting .467.
Senior Kelsie Zumberger had 26 assists.
Freshman Ellie Gillespie had 11 digs and junior Jeni Kmic posted 10 more.
The Polar Bears were dominate from the start building a 10-3 lead early in Set 1.
Northern would use a 12-2 run to open up a 22-5 advantage and cruise to a victory in Set 1, 25-8.
Set 2 was tight early on with the score tied at 11-11.
ONU used a 7-2 run to pull away and go up 19-13.
Kenyon would battle back to cut the ONU lead to 20-19.
But the Polar Bears would close the set on a 5-2 run capped off by a kill from Grenert.
Northern would come out firing in Set 3 building a 14-3 lead and cruise to a 25-14 Set 3 victory.
ONU had 43 kills for the match and hit a solid .320 while the Ladies had 15 kills and hit .063 for the match.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Alliance to face off against No. 16 Mount Union at 4 pm.
