SPRINGFIELD — The Northern volleyball team fell 3-1 to No. 13 Hope at the 2011 Great Lakes Regional Challenge, hosted by Wittenberg at Pam Evans Smith Arena.
The Polar Bears fell 13-25, 19-19, 25-19 and 25-18 and move to 4-5 overall. The Flying Dutch move to 8-0 overall.
Sophomore Cenzie Yoder led the team with 10 kills, followed by junior Ellen Grenert with seven. Sophomores Kristen Davidson and Julia Fuerst each chipped in six terminations.
Davidson also notched two serving aces, while freshman Amanda Volosin had 33 assists.
On the defensive side of the ball, Yoder again led the Polar Bears with six total blocks (two solo, four assists). Sophomore libero Jeni Kmic had 25 digs.
Ohio Northern finishes out the Challenge on Saturday, facing Alma (Mich.) at 10 a.m. and defending national champion Calvin (Mich.) at 2 p.m.
