Burman breaks school record in hammer, Schweller wins three events as Women's Outdoor track and Field wins 4th Annual Mike Becraft Invitational

ADA — Junior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) broke the outdoor hammer throw school record with a toss of 50.40 meters to lead the Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field to team to a victory at the 9-team 4th Annual Mike Becraft Invitational on a crisp and sunny Saturday.

- Burman broke the school record and placed 2nd in the hammer throw with a toss of 165' 4".
- She also finished 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 11.90m and was 3rd in the discus at 39.26m.
- Sophomore Claire Schweller (Paulding) won three events on the day, claiming the pole vault and as a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
- Schweller, junior Jaclyn Boardman (Franklin Ind./Franklin Community) and freshman Nadia Aponte (Elyria/Midview) went 1-2-3 in the pole vault with Schweller winning with a career-best height of 3.82 meters. Boardman was second clearing 3.20m and Aponte tied for third at 2.85m.
- The 4x100-meter relay team, which included freshman Ashley Baker, Gibson, Wolters, and Schweller, won in 51.93.
- Schweller, freshman Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.), junior Kendra Krichbaum (Ashland) and Wolters won the 4x400 in 4:10.21.
- Junior Abby Matthews (Lithopolis/Bloom Carroll) won the 5000 run in 18:28.03.
- Sophomore Stacey Legg (Monroeville) won the long jump with a jump of 5.02 meters.
- Junior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood), Burman, and junior Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) went 2-3-4 in the discus throw with Friend leading with a toss of 40.52m. Sellers had a throw of 39.15m.
- Junior Chloe Gibson and sophomore Lauryn Wolters went 2-3 in the triple jump with jumps of 10.44m and 10.32m, respectively.
- Junior Toria Ingalls (Tiffin/ Columbian) and sophomore Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sanducky) tied for 2nd in high jump by clearing 1.56m.
- Junior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles in :15.51.

- It was Senior Day at Ohio Northern.
- Burman broke the previous record of 163- 2" set in 2017 by Rebecca Olashuk.
- Friend moves to seventh on the top 10 all-time list in the hammer throw with her 150' effort.
- Schweller cleared her previous career-best height in the pole vault by 1/4". She now ranks eighth nationally in the event.
