ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) finished 21st in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Championships at St. John Fisher's Polisseni Track and Field Complex.
Pitcovich finished in a time of 36:27.66 in a loaded field that saw three women break the old Division III Championships record and 21 competitors break the facility record.
Pitcovich closes out her decorated career as a two-time Elite 90 award winner in cross country, a three-time national qualifier in cross country, 2021 All-Ohio female runner of the year for Division III, a two-time national qualifier in the 10,000-meter run, a four-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American and OAC champion in the indoor 3,000-meter run. She was also this year's recipient of ONU's Clyde Lamb Award.
"I know it's not the race that she was hoping to end with but she has had an outstanding career here at ONU and has earned her spot as one of the best female distance runners to come through our program," ONU head coach Jason Maus said. "She has a lot of accomplishments to be proud of."
