Meet Preview: The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team travels to Springfield on Saturday to compete in the Wittenberg Invitational … This is the team's final meet before the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, which are scheduled for Feb. 24-25 at Baldwin Wallace … Field events begin at 11 a.m., and running events begin at 12 p.m. … The meet is not being team scored … ONU is ranked No. 8 in the Great Lakes Region in the Week 4 USTFCCCA poll, which was released on Monday … Northern is coming off competing in the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet and Tiffin Open last Friday and Saturday … At the Grand Valley State meet, senior Tessa Pitcovich finished the 5,000 meters in 17:35.35, which ranks second all-time at ONU, and senior Taylor Ellerbrock ran the 3,000 in 10:11.18, which ranks third all-time at ONU … At the Tiffin Open, sophomore Chloe Gibson won the triple jump with a mark of 10.37 meters, and freshman Sarah Gilbert won the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:21.31 … Junior J.J. Herron was second in the 500 meters with a time of 1:26.38, and junior Olesya Mertz was second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:24.97 … The team of senior Lexi Neff, sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook and freshmen Kaitlin Prusnek and Abby Matthews won the distance medley relay in 13:12.95, which leads the OAC this season … The Polar Bears currently hold three other top-three marks in the OAC this season … Pitcovich leads the OAC in the 5,000 with a converted time of 17:43.48 … Ellerbrock is second in the OAC in the 3,000 with a converted time of 10:16.44 … Sophomore Izzy Burman leads the OAC in the weight throw with a mark of 15.83 meters and is second in the conference in the shot put with a distance of 12.16 meters.
