Women’s Indoor Track and Field posts 9 top-20 finishes on final day of Ashland Open

ASHLAND — The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team posted nine top-20 finishes on the final day of the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Saturday at Ashland University's Niss Athletic Center.
Junior Allie Starner (Wellington) posted a team-best seventh-place finish, running a time of :09.88 in the 60-meter hurdles during Saturday's meet, which was not team scored.
Freshman Riley Heitkamp (Fort Loramie) added a second top-10 finish, placing ninth in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.55 meters.
Also in the high jump, freshman Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) tied for 11th and sophomore Toria Ingalls (Tiffin/Columbian) tied for 14th with matching marks of 1.50 meters.
Sophomore Chloe Gibson (Ostrander/Buckeye Valley) finished 12th in the long jump with a mark of 5.24 meters.
The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge), juniors J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Sydney Goodrich (Romeo, Mich.) and freshman Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) posted a 13-place finish in 4:24.10.
Sophomore Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was 19th in the shot put with a mark of 11.27 meters, and freshman Samantha Roth (Brunswick) finished 19th in the 3,000 with a time of 11:16.48.
Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) rounded out the team's top-20 finishers, placing 20th in the 1-mile run in 5:20.33.
The Polar Bears return to action on Friday and Saturday at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet and Tiffin Open, respectively.
