ADA — Ohio Northern junior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) and senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) have qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
Schatzle and Pitcovich qualified in the pole vault and 10,000 meters, respectively, and will compete in the national meet May 26-28 in Geneva, Ohio.
The top 22 individuals in each event earn qualification into the NCAA Championships meet.
Schatzle cleared a season-best 3.75 meters in the pole vault at the St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite on May 14. That mark ranks fourth all-time at ONU and is 19th nationally.
Schatzle, the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference champion in the outdoor pole vault, qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the event in March.
Pitcovich enters the national meet ranked 22nd in the 10,000 meters after posting a personal-best time of 36:08.18 for an All-OAC second-place finish at the OAC Championships meet on May 5. That time ranks second all-time at ONU.
Pitcovich is a two-time NCAA Championships qualifier in cross country.
