Senior Kayla Silva wins three events to lead Women's Indoor Track and Field to victory at Joe Banks Invitational

ADA — Senior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) won three events to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team to a victory at the annual Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (9-0) won the six-team meet with 233 points. Otterbein was second with 150 points, Rochester (Mich.) was third with 106, Earlham (Ind.) was fourth with 33, Defiance was fifth with 31 and Mount Saint Joseph was sixth with 21.
Silva won the long jump with a leap of 5.06 meters, the 60-mater dash in :07.90 and the 200 in :26.54.
Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) won the mile run in 5:17.35 and senior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) won the 800 in 2:26.44.
Junior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) won the pole vault by clearing 3.55 meters.
Freshman M.J. Zindars (Delaware/Buckeye Valley) won the 3000 run in 11:55.80.
Freshman Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge), junior Lexi Neff (Northfield/Walsh Jesuit), sophomore J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Ellerbrock won the 4x400 relay in 4:15.13.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Indiana Wesleyan Classic.
