Women's Outdoor Track and Field finishes fourth of 10 teams at OAC Elite Meet

WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team finished fourth of 10 teams at the OAC Elite Meet at Otterbein's Memorial Stadium.
The Polar Bears (20-9 overall) finished with 107 points.
Junior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) won the 200-meter dash in :25.45 and was second in the 100 in :12.25.
Freshman Hope Stanley (Geneva) was second in the javelin with a toss of 31.12 meters.
Freshmen J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) placed third in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.12.
Freshman Megan Vapenik (Strongsville) was third in the 5,000-meter run in 18:42.59. Senior Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) was fifth in the event in 18:51.06.
Senior Kylie Vestal (Youngstown/Austintown Fitch) and Wright were fifth and sixth in the 3000 steeplechase in 11:40.77 and 11:52.47, respectively.
Senior Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready), junior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and junior Rue Whitmore (Mason) finished 4-5-6 in the 10,000. Colvin finished in 38:24.79, Pitcovich in 38:26.58 and Whitmore in 38:40.40.
Freshman Alexis Starner (Wellington) was fifth in the 110 hurdles in :16.75.
Mount Union won the team title with 171 points, John Carroll was second with 161 points and Otterbein was third with 136 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday when they host the Mike Becraft Invitational at Kerscher Stadium.
