This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern women's track and field team will look to make their last efforts at qualifying for the 2018 NCAA Div. III National Championships in LaCrosse, Wis. as they compete in the 2-day Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.) College ... Thursday is set to kick off at 11 a.m. (CST) with the men's and women's hammer and discus throws ... Thursday's schedule will feature only three running events in the 4x800-meter relay, the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs ... Field events are set to begin at 2 p.m. (CST) on Friday, before running events begin at 3:30 p.m. (CST) with the 4x100-meter relay ... Northern enters winning its second straight outdoor title at the Ohio Athletic Conference championships for the first time in school history ... In the meet, senior Emily Richards, juniors Avery Ewing, Taylor Fisher and Maddy Reed and sophomore Taylor Lavey were all crowned OAC Champions at the meet ... The five athletes were joined by senior Kelly Wollenslegel, juniors Ashlie Baumann and Michaela Fox, sophomore Melinda McIntosh and Maggie Krause and freshmen Stella DeWitt and Lauren Turner to be named All-OAC ... Richards was named the OAC Distance Runner of the Year, while the Polar Bear coaching staff earned OAC Staff of the Year for their efforts at the championships ... Richards currently ranks first nationally in the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run ... Reed and Krause currently rank 3-5 nationally in the pole vault after each had solid marks at the Campbell/Wright Invitational.
