Junior Avery Ewing leads No. 6 Women's Outdoor Track & Field at Otterbein April Fools Invitational

WESTERVILLE — Junior Avery Ewing (Kokomo, Ind./Eastern) set a new meet record at the Otterbein April Fools Invitational to lead the No. 6-ranked Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team on Friday afternoon.
Team scores were not immediately available for the meet.
Ewing won the 800-meter run and set the meet record in 2:17.01.
Junior Ashlie Baumann (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) also had an impressive individual finish, as she was second in the 5,000-meter run in 17:52.72.
Sophomore Melinda McIntosh (Farmersville/Valley View) posted a top-3 finish in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing third in the event in :15.84.
McIntosh also joined the team of juniors Taylor Fisher (Wapakoneta) and Sydney McCluer (Columbus Grove) and freshman Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch Catholic) to finish third in the 4x100-meter relay in :52.36.
Fisher also finished third in the 400-meter run in 1:09.81.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Danielle Sutter (Fort Recovery) posted a fourth place finish in 12:20.88.
Junior Maddy Reed (Piketon) also posted a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a vault of 12' 3.5".
Freshman Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:07.77, while junior Tia Harris (Newton Falls) also posted a fifth place finish, finishing fifth in the shot put with a toss of 38' 5.5".
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday, Apr. 7 as they travel to Upland, Indiana to compete in the George Glass Invitational.
