This Weekend's Preview: The No. 8-ranked Ohio Northern women's track and field team will compete in the Silverston Invitational on Friday afternoon at the University of Michigan, as well as the Kenyon Classic on Saturday ... The Polar Bears throwers will travel to Findlay on Friday evening and will compete in the Findlay Meet for Everyone ... In the Silverton Invitational, senior Emily Richards will be joined by juniors Avery Ewing and Taylor Fisher and sophomore Taylor Lavey as they compete in the 4x400-meter relay ... Richards will also compete in the mile, while Ewing competes in the 800-meter run, and Fisher and Lavey compete in the 200-meter dash ... Freshman Stella DeWitt will compete in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles at the Silverton Invitational, while junior Maddy Reed and sophomore Maggie Krause each compete in the pole vault ... The rest of the team will compete at the Kenyon Classic on Saturday afternoon ... Northern enters the weekend after a strong showing during last weekends meets ... Richards competed at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday evening where she posted the fastest time in Div. III history in the 800-meter run, winning the race in a record 2:05.28 ... At the All-Ohio Championships, Northern finished 4th of 17 teams ... Lavey and Reed led Ohio Northern individually with second place finishes ... Lavey was second in the 60-meter dash in :07.99 and Reed was second in the pole vault, clearing 3.83 meters ... The 4x400-meter relay team of Richards, Lavey, Ewing and Fisher teamed up to win the 4x400 relay in 4:03.63.
