Senior Kelsey Commager and sophomore Maddy Reed lead Women's Indoor Track & Field at Polar Bear Last Chance Invitational

ADA — Senior Kelsey Commager (Maumee) and sophomore Maddy Reed (Lucasville/Piketon) led the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team Saturday afternoon as they competed in the Polar Bear Last Chance Invitational at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
No team scores were recorded at the meet.
Commager swept the long jump and triple jump, winning the long jump with a leap of 18' 1.50" and winning the triple jump with a leap of 37' 8.75".
Reed won the pole vault with a leap of 12' 6", while freshman Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) posted a sixth place finish, clearing 11' 2.25".
Senior Genevieve Marchese (Beavercreek/Carroll) finished second in the 5,000-meter run 19:44.42.
In the 400-meter dash, senior Meagan Ellinger (Bath, Ind./Union County) took fourth place in 1:00.33, while sophomore Taylor Fisher (Wapakoneta) finished sixth in 1:01.79.
Sophomore Avery Ewing (Kokomo, Ind./Eastern) posted a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:26.75.
In the weight throw, senior Rebecca Olashuk (Defiance/Tinora) finished sixth with a toss of 51' 4.25".
The Polar Bears will wrap up the indoor season next weekend as they compete at the NCAA III Indoor National Championships in Naperville, Ill. on Mar. 10-11.
